Justice for Twinke Sharma

This post is about a 3 year old girl who was brutally murdered in Aligarh, UP. She was kidnapped and killed because the accused owed her family 10,000 rupees. Her body was mutilated beyond recognition, her hands were chopped off, her eyes gouged out and her body doused in acid. Just reading about it gave me shivers. It's so gruesome and barbaric and I just can't believe anybody doing this to a human, let alone a young girl. Why aren't people afraid to commit such horrific crimes? We're becoming animals or I'd say we're worse than animals. I have lost faith in Humanity.

As always our great policemen didn't heed to the missing complaint filed by her parents and did not file the FIR for 2 days since she went missing. She could have been saved had the police sprung into action early. It just goes to show that the poor and the common people do not matter at all. The police can search for missing cows and buffaloes of ministers but do not have time to look for missing people. That's how they value human life.

What disgusts me is the kind of ignorance showed by our mainstream media. The accused in this case belong to a minority community which is why there is no media attention. The same media went haywire to cover the case of Asifa Bano. I don't understand why this bias or why this differential treatment for a victim from the majority community? Why no outrage this time? Why the silence? or Isn't this liberal enough for you?

I would like the two faced people (celebrities and media alike or the Pseudo-Feminists/Pseudo-Secularists/Pseudo-Liberals) who took out candle marches for the Kathua rape victim to also show the same sympathy, outrage and solidarity for this young girl. They were quick to give the Kathua incident a communal angle and were seen holding placards with "Devi sthan" and "Hindustan". I've not seen any such voices arising in this case.

Let's not give justice a color of religion. Twinkle Sharma deserves the same justice as Asifa Bano or any other human being. Any life taken is a stain on humanity and we're all stained in blood. Let's not spread hate.

I hope our authorities will take the strictest action possible to ensure that such a heinous crime is never repeated again! The law must act fast and I hope the accused are given the death penalty and are hanged as soon as possible. Let their trial serve as an example and let it instill fear among people who even think of doing this.

We've failed you and the many others yet again. My prayers are with you and your family.

May your soul rest in peace little angel. _/\_

    1. It's not upto us. It's the government's job to do justice. Let the law take its course. We as citizens should just back our government to bring justice to everyone. Not just her. Everybody else's story should be highlighted. A lot of stories like these just get lost and it's upto us to bring it to the people's attention. As I mentioned in my post, We must not give justice the color of religion. We should treat this as a criminal investigation and not think of it communally.

The pen is mightier than the sword. These days there is no pen but keyboards so your keyboard is mightier than the sword. So if you think there is something wrong happening around you, bring it to people's attention by writing about it. We must always be unbiased. The moment we start choosing sides, we start ignoring the facts and the truth.

      Hope that helps.
