Kargil Vijay Diwas _/\_
War is the most destructive and pitiless of all human activities. And yet the experience of war has a profound and strangely compelling effect on those who fight. Combat kills, maims, and terrifies, but it can also reveal the power of brotherhood and a selfless sense of purpose. It’s an experience that changes soldiers, and those changes last a lifetime. War is a lot of things and it is unrealistic to pretend that exciting isn’t one of them.
While war remains one of the most horrendous human events, there’s no doubt that there are situations that provoke a nation into war. With soldiers such as our heroes of Kargil war, we can sleep easy in the knowledge that there are defenders of our freedom who rank among the best.
As we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Divas today, let's not forget the sacrifices of our brave soldiers who fought till the end and gave there lives for our country. We're safe and sound and we feel protected because someone out their is protecting us.
Our armed forces are a collective of brave men and women who redefine patriotism every single day. Their acts of bravery cannot be defined through words. No one deserves the title of a 'hero' more than a soldier. The brave men and women at the INDIAN army stay away from their families, miss every significant thing in their lives and sacrifice their lives just so that you and I can be with our loved ones and sleep peacefully at night. If there is a heaven, these are the men and women who deserve the highest pedestal!
The next time you see a soldier bow your head with respect. Feel what he feels. Know the same rush of patriotism. Respect him for what he is, what he does and what he gets. For this is what he needs amidst all the odds.
They crushed our enemies and our sorrow, They gave up their today for our tomorrow, They wore a smile and laid down their lives, A salute to these gallant soldiers and their sacrifice, They are fallen but not forgotten !!
“Only the dead have seen the end of war”
“Kargil Ke Amar Jawan, Aapko hamara salaam”
