Violence in Kashmir

Two weeks on and Kashmir continues to burn. more than 45 people dead and over 2000 injured? Who is to be blamed for all of this? Pakistan, Separatists, Terrorists or our Politicians? I feel everybody has an equal role to play here in all this unrest. Pakistan is and always has been the sole perpetrator of violence in Kashmir and other parts of INDIA. it is never going to stop funding terrorists and will continue to brain wash them, the separatists will keep instigating violence and the common people will suffer. more than 65000 people have died in the violence over the last 3 decades and many more continue to fall. Our Politicians just use Kashmir as a political tool for their own petty gains. What we've done with Kashmir and the way we treat Kashmir and its people is the cause of all problems. Kashmir is just like any other INDIAN state and should be treated just like one. The special treatment that we give to Kashmir is alienating the people there from the rest of the country. Article 370 and the AFSPA are one of the main reasons for the growing resentment among the people and the Separatists use this resentment to sow seeds of hatred in the people of Kashmir. 3 decades of Violence hasn't woken up our Politicians yet. we've fought more than 2 wars over Kashmir and what have we got? the people over there still feel they're not part of this country. what have we done to bring them into the mainstream? what have we done to connect them to INDIA? just article 370? while the PM is busy trying to bring the world to INDIA, he must also do his best to bring Kashmir and its people back to INDIA too. We see a lot of development happening in various parts of INDIA while Kashmir still looks as if it is 20 years behind rest of the country, partly to blame is the violence in the state and mostly because of our great politicians. for over 40 years after the Independence, there was no sign of violence in Kashmir then why in the last 30 years? and why isn't it stopping? why are more youths joining the terrorists? A section of media is busy glorifying terrorists and their deaths and then there are a handful of people (the kanhaiyas and the khalids) in INDIA who add fuel to this fire. these people just want to be in the limelight.

The Kashmiri people need to understand that violence hasn't done anything in all these years and wont get them anything in the future. Their ignorance will create more Terrorists who will eventually be gunned down by the army. They need to understand that they'll only get pain if they choose this path. The people of Kashmir must see the world today and the state of affairs of our mono-religious neighbors and see the fate of people over there. A lot of people there don't want violence but have no choice but to give in to the diktats of the Separatists and the Militants. They must unite and fight these agents of death. they must open their eyes and see what the separatists are doing to them in the name of freedom. while they continue to lose their sons, their so called leadership are far away from any action. their sons and daughters are studying abroad and they're staying away from all of the violence. not even one separatists has anybody from their family fighting against the so called occupation. the people must see who they're looking upto. the Separatists are just a bunch of fools who want nothing out of this but money. the people of kashmir must also understand that this terrorism and their support to the militants is directly affecting their livelihood. the people must think why Pakistan is glorifying this unrest and holding rallies? more than a 100 kids were killed in the school attack in Pakistan and they never had a black day and they're having one for Kashmir? people who think of Pakistan as a great country must also see the kind of importance they give to their people. UN designated Terrorists are carrying out rallies after rallies out in the open while their own people continue to suffer.

There's always two sides to a coin and we must also think about the mistakes that we've done in the past and try to correct them. Our government needs to do what has not been done in the last 70 years. We need to build confidence among the people in the Kashmir. In the time of peace when there are no incidents, the govt should slowly remove AFSPA from parts of the state and then if things change gradually revoke it for good and eventually Article 370. Give them more employment opportunities. They need to see rapid development, they need to see flyovers, malls, multiplexes. their standard of living must increase. The only path to peace is progress and for this progress to happen, we must involve the people who're going to be directly affected by it. The youths need someone to look at, someone to follow on the path of development. There are many bright people in Kashmir who despite all the Violence have carved a name for themselves. the youth need to learn from them. The govt needs to give the youths in Kashmir more opportunities in sports, the govt needs to create more heroes and more people the new generation can look upto. there are thousands of ways in which we can make or bring a change. the only thing we need is will for where there is a will there's a way.

They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for. Remember.. there's always HOPE. Out of difficulties grow Miracles.

As I end this, I would like to again say that I do not belong to any political party or endorse one. I am not a Bhakt or an AAM Aadmi or a Pappu follower. just a common man (A Proud INDIAN) expressing his common views.
