We shall overcome

It seems that failure tends to be more public than success. Or at least that’s what we perceive it to be. We fret it, we try to avoid it, and we question ourselves every time we miss our mark. The simple truth is that no great success was ever achieved without failure. Edison did not create a light bulb the very first time. It took him 10,000 attempts to get it right. Whether we like it or not failure is a stepping stone to success.

I would like to congratulate ISRO on making this far. There are a very few countries in the world that have managed to reach the moon and you've done it twice using our own indigenous technologies without any outside help. Hats off to all those involved in the Chandrayaan 2 mission. While you may have lost contact with Vikram but all is not lost. It was always going to be a tough landing on the south pole of the moon. Given that it was our first attempt at landing a vehicle outside our planet and also the terrain where we were landing. The odds were always against us. To have reached this far is an achievement in itself.

Every obstacle teaches us something. I salute and applaud our brilliant and hard working scientists who have made us proud every single time. Your spirit, passion and dedication to the service of the nation and its people is unparalleled. It is because of your hard work, INDIA is seen as a space-faring nation. You continue to inspire the next generation to look towards the stars. You have the hopes and the aspirations of over a billion hearts and I know we will scale the moon again. We're proud of you.

Success is not Final, Failure is not Fatal, It is the Courage to Continue that Counts.....

We came, we saw and we will eventually conquer.

Thank you for making us proud. Saluting you all at ISRO.
