Justice finally delivered
Justice delivered at last to the tortured Soul of Nirbhaya and her parents that too after 7 long long years..
The four convicts of the Nirbhaya gang rape case have been finally executed after exploiting all loopholes in the system and all possible legal remedies.
The Nirbhaya murder was undoubtedly one of the most henious crimes to have happened in INDIA. Not just Nirbhaya but entire mankind was murdered that day.
It is really sad and unfortunate that even after being convicted and sentenced it took so long to hang the culprits. The four adult convicts were "intentionally delaying" and "frustrating" the legal process in this case by filing their pleas in stages, so that their execution could be postponed and to a certain extent they succeeded in delaying their execution. I feel justice delayed is justice denied and it was indeed denied to Mrs. Asha Devi, the mother of the rape victim until today.
Out of the six people who committed this crime, One of them committed suicide in police custody, while one other was released on 20 December 2015. The reason being, he was a minor (17 yrs 6 months old) on the day of committing the dreadful act. Imagine, he fell 6 months short of being a criminal. It disgusts me to the core that someone actually was able to exploit the loophole in our law to get this criminal out, unharmed. He is at large and who knows, what he is up to.
Nirbhaya got robbed off her precious life by these undeserving stinky worms of our society. Her plunge however, triggered a big change. Our laws were modified and now a criminal won’t be considered juvenile if he is found to be more than 16 years old. There is still a lot that needs to be done to make our laws stronger enough so that they can act as a deterrent. There is still bias and a rich person can easily get through the laws easily. The Unnao rape case is one such example where the accussed was a politician with deep connections. The rape victim was bold enough to stand against him and our judiciary was not even able to save her from being burnt alive. On the other hand the accussed in the Hyderabad case were gunned down by the policemen because they didn't have any political Godfathers. Would the same policemen have fired a single bullet if the accussed was a politician or a rich person? The answer is NO. They would have not.
The laws that were framed after the public outrage over the Nirbhaya attack are still not strong enough to deter criminals or those with criminal mindsets given the rise in the number of incidents across the country. Our Criminal justice system and Civil justice system are so archaic in nature and practically not reformed much in decades and are loaded with millions of pending cases. Even fast track courts haven't proved fruitful. One must find and it is not so difficult to fast track gruesome crimes. Only right sensitivity and propriety is needed here from all stake holders. If there is a will, traps along the way can be cleared. It is not so difficult.
We as a society are prone to short memory and inertia. Incidents of this horrific level brought criticism /denunciation on mass scale. But it lasts for some days. Things go natural as capacity of human being for mourning is also limited. As victim is no more but accused are still in picture. It is their pain which starts to be felt. We forget the past and start pleading for their right to live. It is not only common man but also of celebrity level who starts questioning the capital sentence. We have so many examples in recent decades. Times have changed but the mentality still prevails in the mindsets of several narrow minded people. I hope people change this mentality and I hope justice is delivered sooner rather than later.
One has to be willing to admit a problem in order to solve it. If INDIA doesn’t admit that it has a problem with the way it treats the vulnerable members of the society, how will it solve it?
There is still a long way to change and acknowledge the fact that the root cause lies in patriarchal laws of the society which make male superior to females. Boys need to be taught at home, school and everywhere to treat girls like a fellow human being and every human being deserves respect. They should be scared of the consequence of doing anything against a girl's wish. This is a mindset change and need to be inculcated by the mothers and fathers of the beta! There is no fault of dressing or lifestyle by which one assumes the character of the person. Girls are not the trophy to win or toy to play. If every son, brother, father, friend, and husband start treating the women in their life as equal, the society will change for better.
I hope Nirbhaya's parents, friends and relatives would perhaps feel relieved that this dark chapter of their lives has finally closed. I hope and pray for Nirbhaya's soul. I hope she is finally at peace.
Saluting Nirbhaya's parents for the struggle they've gone through to see this day.
I hope justice is also delivered to all the unknown victims across the country and around the world.
Jai Hind 🙏🙏
